Norte Energia S.A.

Norte Energia S.A. is in charge of the construction and operation of the largest 100% Brazilian plant: the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant.

Established as a Special Purpose Entity (SPE), the Company won the concession auction held on April 20, 2010. The concession agreement for the Plant defines Norte Energia’s management term as 35 years.

By undertaking the challenge to build and operate Belo Monte HPP, Norte Energia committed to contributing to the economic and social development of the country, through the generation of clean, renewable, reliable energy at a fair price, using the hydroelectric potential of the Xingu River.
