System for Time Price Formation of the Sin - Underway

In December 2018, Norte Energia initiated the “SYSTEM FOR TIME PRICE FORMATION OF THE NATIONAL INTERCONNECTED SYSTEM (SIN)” project. Its purpose is to develop a computational time price formation model. A simulator will also be deployed to assess the decisions obtained from the operation’s daily schedule, for the purpose of observing the operational consequences of such decisions according to the reality of plants that make up the National Interconnected System (SIN). 

R&D Project Title: Stochastic Model of Weekly Policies for the Dispatch Time of the National Interconnected System – SPARHTACUS II.

Estimated execution period: from 12/2018 to 02/2022.

Objectives: 
(i) The SPARHTACUS II model will be a high-performance, large-scale computational model for linear, mixed integer, multistage stochastic programming in which electro-energy decisions are made while handling all planning stages, including daily programming, of the Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico (ONS) in an integrated manner;
(ii) Implement a non-linear simulator that evaluates the decisions obtained in the daily programming stage of the operation, in order to observe the operative consequences of such decisions depending on the reality of the SIN plants.

Description: develop a computational time price formation model that allows decisions to be made when addressing the planning stages of the ONS. In addition, deploy a simulator to assess the decisions obtained from the operation’s daily schedule, for the purpose of observing the operational consequences of such decisions according to the reality of plants that make up the SIN.

Product to be produced: linear, mixed integer, multistage stochastic programming computational model in which electro-energy decisions are made in an integrated manner.
