In the area of public health, Norte Energia has been investing since 2011 in the Malaria Control Action Plan (PACM). In the five municipalities in the immediate vicinity of the Belo Monte HPP, the cases of the disease had almost total reduction in 2016, and in November and December 2017 no cases of the disease were reported. At the beginning of the Belo Monte HPP project, the municipalities served by the PACM registered 5,075 cases of the disease.

Norte Energia also invested in the construction and renovation of hospitals, such as Anapu and Vitória do Xingu, which have already been delivered and equipped. The works of the General Hospital of Altamira, in the neighborhood of Mutirão, were also completed, with a capacity of 100 beds to attend cases of high and medium complexity. In addition to the construction of the hospital, Norte Energia was also responsible for equipping it. These initiatives are the result of an agreement between the Company, the Health Secretariat of Pará and the City of Altamira.

In addition, 30 Basic Health Units (UBS) were built - seven UBS in Altamira, six in Vitória do Xingu, seven in Anapu, five in Senador José Porfírio and five in New Brazil. Each of the UBS has coverage capacity for 12 thousand people and is equipped with a complete dental office.
